Some of my favorite bloggers have taken to doing ‘day in the life’ posts (if you are a blog connoisseur like I am then I’m sure you’ve seen some already.) I thought it would be fun to do something similar and I tried to take 1 photo every hour yesterday. Since I’m on Spring Break from one of my jobs this isn’t the typical Wednesday for me (I’m normally working noon to 8 p.m.) so this is more like what a weekend day looks like.
6 a.m. Wake up. I normally wake-up between 5-5:30 but this time change is killing me. Salem usually sleeps right next to my face but lately I’ve been waking up to him at the foot of the bed. He sleeps by my side all night!
7 a.m. Tea and Oatmeal. The medicine I have to take for my Hashimotos has to be taken on an empty stomach, and you can’t eat for an hour after. Normally I’ll take it in the middle of the night when I get up to use the restroom or randomly wake-up. Well, that night I slept though until the morning so I had to take my pill and kill an hour before eating. I’ll normally go ahead and workout on an empty stomach but yesterday I woke up with zero energy/desire to do that so I wanted to have breakfast first.
8 a.m. Workout time! I did the Xtend Barre DVD at home. I have had a headache for two days (and I get maybe 1 headache a year) so I’ve been drinking like a boss all day thinking it may be due to dehydration. That’s a big glass of water and some Target brand Pedialyte on the window to the kitchen.
9 a.m. Foam roll, stretch & trigger point. I’m trying to be as proactive as possible about not getting injured during this training cycle. I spent about 20 minutes stretching and rolling before hopping in the shower and putting on non-workout clothes for the first time this week.
10 a.m. A quick snack before I head out the door. I’m trying to get more into the habit of eating 3 larger meals but I was hungry and knew it would be a while before I was back at home for lunch.
11 a.m. Selfie while out running errands.
12 p.m. Swung by Barnes and Noble to pick up the latest book in a series I just started. My latest guilty pleasure are totally brainless mystery books. I have no shame. I wanted something light to read over the break that would require virtually zero mental resources.
1 p.m. Lunch! This week it’s been a huge salad with hummus & carrots + an apple.
6 p.m. Popcorn and Netflix! I just started watching a new show (new to me.) I don’t want to say what it is so I don’t hear any spoilers. Let’s just say it’s ridiculously popular, still on the air, and I think going into it’s 5th season?
Shit my life looks so boring.
Or awesome, depending on how you look at it.
