August Workout Summary

August wasn’t the best month for me/us in terms of health and fitness.

The first week of the month I was virtually confined to my bed due to lower back pain.

We spent a week in Las Cruces in the middle of the month.

Then I caught some nasty cold that prohibited me from enjoying my last week off before the Fall term started on August 23rd.

 July’s Summary:

Minutes exercised: 1626

Miles walked/ran: 32.7

August Summary:

Minutes exercised: 1661

Miles walked/hiked/ran: 63.75

While the numbers look better than July there were 3 long hikes included in those totals. I am very proud of myself for taking 3 total days off from any activity and a few days of just walking.

I also joined the #PlankADay revolution and am going to focus on doing that daily in September. The PlankPolice called me out on twitter!

With the craptastic August over with Matt and I are revved up and determined to kick September’s proverbial ass. Our fitness goals are as follows:

Shared Goals:

5k in 35 minutes

10 mile hike


15 push-ups


7 pull-ups

3 lb weight loss

This is how I feel about September.
