So, I didn't even think to take photos I could share this week on the blog. Between the grading project (which thankfully ended early yesterday), housework, taking care of the baby, and tending to Salem - I'm burned out. I still managed to get workouts in since they keep me feeling sane and help get out some anxiety and frustrations.

Salem is doing about the same as he was when we took him in on Monday. It's been four full days of syringe feeding every 2-3 hours during the day, appetite stimulants, antibiotics and IV fluids at night. He hasn't gotten worse though so that's good. The vet did say some cats can stay like this for weeks before getting better, or worse.
Let's just say shoving a giant needle into your cats back and watching him cry and squirm while your husband holds him down for 2-3 minutes is not fun. At all. I know it's for the best, and he wouldn't be alive at this point if we weren't force feeding him and giving fluids, but it's still so hard. I carried him upstairs with me last night to cuddle in bed for as long as he would. He stayed with me until the baby woke up around midnight to eat and when I came back to bed he had gone back to his spot downstairs.
I guess we are just playing it day by day still. I keep waiting for some sort of sign he's getting better. He will eat a few bites of fancy feast if I pick him up and put him right in front of the plate. Seeing him actually walk over to the food or water bowl would give me hope.
We are doing the best we can for him and I'm trying to trust in that and not obsess over things. Whatever happen, will happen.
Thank you all so much for your comments and thoughts/prayers for Salem. I've read all of them and will hopefully respond to them this weekend. We might go out to eat or try to do something fun to get out of the house for a little bit. It's supposed to 'warm up' to almost 30 on Sunday so I may try to run outside.
I did stay up one night this week working on a five year plan. I've got so many ideas floating around and need to start putting them into action! Some long term financial goals, some long and short term blog goals, and a few personal ones. I'll probably do a blog post on it soon. I have a long list of blog topics I'm excited to write if only given enough time to do so!
What are you doing this weekend? Do you have a 5 year plan? Or 1 year?
