5k Goal Met!

Last night I finally figured out what the perfect cure for a cold is - ice cream! Well, frozen yogurt to be specific but you get the idea.

I had my usual chocolate and vanilla swirl with m-n-m's and Matt had strawberry and vanilla with oreos and m-n-m's. I love the self-serve aspect of TCBY but do they have to make their cups available only in size extra large?!

This morning I woke up feeling a bit better and decided it was a good time to try to run. Ever since my back issues, our vacation, and now this cold I haven't been able to get back to my original goal for July to complete a 5k in under 38 minutes. I had a good feeling about today!

We used RunKeeper's coaching that I created to run 90 seconds on 30 seconds off. We hit 2.6 miles around the 32 minute mark so we ran the last 5 minutes straight through to meet our goal. It was incredible. I definitely experienced my first runners high after and I'm addicted! We walked for about 2 minutes before running home and I was in a total daze. My body feels like mush now but I couldn't be more proud of us.

Next goal: 35 minutes.
