Fruitwater

If you follow me on twitter you've probably seen quite a few photos of what I bring to work for lunch and snacks. Lately, I've included a FruitWater every day after picking one up to try a few weeks ago. I'm pretty much obsessed with them and have been long before I was provided the opportunity to work with them on this post!

Even my Dad drank some of my stash while he was catsitting for me when I attended FitBloggin! With zero calories and Green Tea extract I kind of look for 'excuses' to have one each day.

We were asked to talk about a 'sparkling truth', or a time where we sparkled through unexpected challenges. For days I struggled with what I could write about! Then, thanks to an incredibly thoughtful email I received from Jenny this week, it hit me.

When Matt and I broke up last October I didn't give a lot of details about what happened. We had been planning since that February to move to Connecticut together at the en of the year. Right before the relationship ended I told the school I was teaching at that I would not be returning for another semester. We were living in my apartment so when the lease was up in August I opted to sign a new, much higher, month-to-month rate anticipating us moving out of Florida in January. My birthday was coming up and I had explained to him how I always seem to have lackluster birthday's. I'm either working, single with friends who are busy, or generally apathetic. He assured me that this year he was going to make it special for me and boy did he deliver! Two days before I turned 29 he said he was moving to Connecticut without me. That morning was the last time I ever saw him.

So, I had given up my job and was stuck living in a place I could no longer afford. I panicked. Then I got my stuff together. As you all can tell things worked out for the best and I honestly cannot adequately express how happy I am to be where I'm at in life right now. It was a major curve-ball though and I'm proud of how well I handled the situation.

It always strikes me as odd when people comment on my status of being single by choice. In all my past relationships I have centered my hopes, plans and energy around their goals and needs. Now, I live for me. I work for me. I plan for me. For better and for worse I am solely responsible for my life and my happiness.

And I love it.
