My weekend was so fantastical I totally forgot to show it off. FAIL. If I don't post a thousand photos of it on twitter or my blog than it didn't really happen - right? Saturday morning Travis and I woke up at 6 to grab breakfast and go for a hike. Travis suggested Bagelheads which is where we had our first date at (and where he wanted to propose before I ruined it!)
After we carbed and caffeinated up we headed to UWF. There's a trail there that I've been wanting to do for years but I get lost on it every. single. time. It's pathetic, I know. To be fair Travis has been trained a bit in land navigation and even he said the map and markers were totally bogus. Thankfully, with him there, I was able to finally conquer the red loop!
After 10 miles of hiking we headed straight to Jasons Deli for lunch. A few hours of studying & working at home and we headed out to the beach to catch the sunset. Unfortunately it wasn't the most brilliant sunset ever but it was still so sweet! I don't think I've watched the sunset at the beach since high school.
Sunday morning we woke up early to tackle our last long run before the marathon. My knee and hip have been acting up so I wasn't sure what I'd be able to do after taking most of last week off from running. We hoped for 12 but by mile 1.5 we had to turn around and head home so I could put on my knee wrap. I hadn't run in it before and wasn't sure if I'd love it or hate it but my knee pain went away almost immediately! I was able to finish the full 12 in pretty good time and I think I'll be wearing the wrap at the marathon this weekend.
I'm still in a bit of denial the marathon is 6 days away. Or that our wedding is in 5! I made the realization this week that I'll be carbing up the week before my wedding. #BestBrideEver. I think Travis and I have both decided to just have FUN with this race. We'll train hard for the New Orleans marathon in January but there's no point in setting time goals or anything like that now.
For lunch we met up with my parents at Roly Poly for my Dad's birthday. His birthday isn't actually until tomorrow (happy early birthday, Dad!) but it's just easier to get everyone together on the weekend. We had to hit up TCBY after for frozen yogurt. His & Her's (which do you think is mine?)
When's the last time you enjoyed a sunset?
