Despite the 4 month sleep regression we are currently going through I feel like 2016 is off to an amazing start. I've been eating much better than I was through the Holidays (aren't we all? Unless you are still eating fudge and cookies every day like I was. I won't judge.) I've been giving it my all in workouts, and I'm staying on top of work and house activities. I'm sure this picture perfect balance between baby, health, home and work life won't last forever, but it is great to feel like I'm off to a good start.
Last week I received this fun assortment of goodies from BabbleBoxx. It isn't a subscription service, but a curated box of items distributed to social media influencers. This box was centered around a "revamp your routine" theme and I was excited to try a few new products out!
I've used Cold-EEZE before and am happy to have them on hand again once our first Alaskan colds strike. I've been lucky in that I haven't been sick since my second month of pregnancy. Little man seems to be over the slight cold he had last week, but I'm sure I'll be catching one any day now up here!
Pancakes are a huge hit in our house. I usually make some every weekend, and occasionally Travis will request them during the week for dinner. I grew up in a house that embraced breakfast for dinner so I always love doing the same with my new family. Travis prefers giant pancakes (I like smaller ones) and butter on his. I didn't tell him these Birch Benders pancakes were gluten free as I wanted to see what he honestly thought of the taste before I said anything. Verdict? He loved them! I had some as well and they are delicious. I've never met a pancake I didn't like.
Despite my massive tea collection I hadn't tried the two Stash Teas they sent. I used to drink herbal tea daily but got out of the practice when I was pregnant and nervous about drinking anything that might effect my pregnancy. Chai tea has always been a favorite of mine and I was thrilled that Organic Gold Cup Chai w/ Turmeric is caffeine free! It, and the Organic Lavender Tulsi was just as tasty and so calming to drink before bed.
If you'd like to try Stash Teas use code BABBLE15 at StashTea.com for 15% off your order until February 12th!
I've been using the Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel On-the-Go Refreshingly Clean Towelettes to wipe down with after I workout in the mornings. I always workout after Travis has gone to work, so it's not very easy for me to get in a shower with little man who never naps unless he's on me. So, instead of just foregoing working out I'll clean up using these towelettes. I learned to love Witch Hazel postpartum and am always amazed at how many uses it has.
Finally, I kind of side-eyed the Stop & Drop Diet book when I first saw it. Y'all know I don't like diets. They don't last, and most are extremely unrealistic. I was pleasantly surprised when I read through the book and realized it's more of a lifestyle approach than a diet. The basis of the approach is to just STOP eating unhealthy versions of the foods you love and start eating healthier versions instead to DROP the pounds. Get it? Stop and drop? I thought it was cute. It seems like an easy, flexible eating approach that would work for a lot of people.
