The last few days of the week I've worked out in the living room right in front of the baby. Previously I would try to squeeze a workout in while he napped, but he doesn't nap regularly so I decided to try this out. He loves it! He definitely doesn't last more than 25 minutes, and even then I usually have to stop once or twice to pick him up and give him some attention, but it's so nice to be able to workout.

This week I've been working on getting the house more organized. We've been unpacked for a while but there's still a lot of areas of the house that I need to go through. The office is a disaster as we've been putting random things in there when we aren't sure where else we want them to go.

One room that's been done for a while is the nursery! We have a sort of woodland adventure theme and I'm so happy with how it's coming together. That blanket on the crib was made for me by one of my former students. I really miss teaching.

I'll show off more photos of the nursery, and the rest of the house, when it's finished! Nursery

The most exciting event of the week was my first trip out of the house alone with the baby! Whenever I took him out in Florida one of my parents was with me, and Travis has gone out with us every time since we've been in Alaska. After driving in the snow for the first time on Wednesday to my counseling appointment I felt a little bit better about going out in it again with the baby.

After my appointment I woke up Thursday determined to be productive and have a great day. I cleaned the house, worked out, did a few loads of laundry, and got ready to go out all before noon. After lunch we headed to Walmart so I could get some goodies for the Operation Christmas shoe box I decided to put together.

Babe slept on the way there, and almost the entire time we were in the store. He woke up a few times, looked around for a minute, and passed out again.

I did slide across the road a few times, and almost rear ended someone when my car wouldn't stop and kept sliding, but overall it was a success. I don't think I'll take him out often with how risky it is but I'm still going to go out at least once a week with him so we can both enjoy a change of scenery.

The box I'm putting together is for a 10-14 year old girl. I tried to get a nice variety of goodies; some toiletries, candy, school supplies and fun stuff. I think I'm lacking on the fun items. I just couldn't find things I thought would be appropriate for a 10 year old, or a 14 year old. Such diverse ages! At 10 I was making friendship  bracelets, at 14 I was getting ready to drive with a learners permit and obsessed with boys.  IMG_0748

Anything else you can think of that I could pick up to add? It would need to be small as I'm definitely running out of room!

This weekend we are getting a few more Christmas presents for family members to get ready to mail boxes out next week. I'm also going to put together a small Thanksgiving menu for our first Thanksgiving away from family. Probably just an apple pie and a few sides. I'm really just doing it for the pie.

What are you doing this weekend?
