Can't lie - it's been hard to get back into a workout routine after doing basically nothing but yoga for 3 weeks! I'm itching to pick up some weights again, and hope that next week I'll get motivated to pop in a few of my favorite Jillian Michael's DVD's. The weather here has been perfect (low 40's in the morning and highs in the mid-60's) so Tuesday's walk before dinner was gorgeous.

2015-02-10 15.22.01This week I cooked a huge meal for Travis as an early Valentines Day gift. I know so many people hate Valentines Day since it's a totally fabricated holiday used to sell cards and chocolate, but I still love it. I don't care about gifts or anything like that but it's a nice time to do something special for the people you love. I mentioned in a post last week that I never cook for Travis so I thought that would be a nice gesture. I spent almost 3 hours total on Tuesday preparing a Chinese feast. Lo mein noodles, baked egg rolls, Sweet, sticky & spicy chicken (tempeh for me), and cream cheese wontons. We both LOVED the wontons and I didn't follow the recipe exactly, only adding cream cheese and sriracha sauce to them. So freaking good. I also didn't fold mine like she did, but just winged it. We had enough for 2 more meals each. Travis, who is notoriously unenthusiastic about food, said "we should make this once a week."

2015-02-11 11.00.01I cooked again Thursday night making this copycat Panera broccoli cheddar soup and chipotle chicken grilled cheese sandwich (plain grilled cheese for me!) Since Travis is in between classes and at home now I've had him make the chicken both times so it's worked out perfectly.

In return I received these gorgeous roses! I was cleaning the house Thursday morning when I saw a white van pull into our driveway. Years of living alone has conditioned me to never answer the door when I'm alone, ever. So, naturally, I jumped behind our breakfast bar and hid. Something in me told me to go check out the peephole and when I did I saw a guy standing there with these beauties. Granted it could have been a serial killer posing as a flower delivery person, but I took my chances.

2015-02-12 09.47.22-1The other surprise package we received this week was a tin of cookies from Travis's niece. Salem and I tore up the buckeyes and chocolate dipped rice krispie treats!

I've been working on this super cute Valentines art project since before I left for Yoga Teacher Training but I don't think I'll have it done in time. What a failure. It's a pinterest inspired project that's actually turning out exactly how it should. Usually I try to copycat art projects and they end up looking like something you make at summer camp in 2nd grade. Even if I'm not done before Saturday I'll post photos when it's finished.

This weekend we are trying out a new restaurant Saturday night and heading back to Pensacola for the day Sunday. My Mom gave us both gift certificates for massages for Christmas that we are finally redeeming. I LOVE the person we are going to so I'm very excited.

We found out that Travis has to report at his next duty station in early September. Of course we have no idea where we are going yet. We could find out next week, or a week before we have to report. I love picturing what our lives will be like for Christmas and how dramatically different things are going to be then!
