Fitness Overboard

I am exhausted. I can't remember the last time I crammed so much activity into one weekend. The weather here was perfect (high's in the 60's!) so I had to take full advantage.

Saturday morning started off with a 6 mile run and 30 minute walk. That afternoon I persuaded my friend Jason into hiking my favorite trails at Blackwater with me.

2013-05-04 15.21.47We hiked the connector trail between Bear Lake and Krul lake, then back to circle around Bear Lake. I actually ended up running into some friends on the trail. I love that my friends are the type of people you 'bump into'  in the middle of the forest.

2013-05-05 18.43.58 (2)Sunday morning I worked out at home with Tracy Mallet's F.I.T. workout for the second time and I can now say definitively this DVD burns more calories than any other's I've used. It is incredible.

It was also laundry day so I worked out in my Hello Kitty pajama's. #yolo

That afternoon I headed over to Jason's house to hang out for a bit. We headed to a nearby park that we passed on the way to Blackwater Saturday. I saw two kids playing on this crazy looking contraption and I absolutely had to try it. When we drove to the park we saw there wasn't a gate to get in, so we had to jump the fence like a bunch of hooligans.

2013-05-05 16.05.02It definitely took me about 5 minutes of trying before I figured out a way to get up there. I also tried to do a pull-up (failed) and after about 10 minutes of playing on the playground I was old lady sore. Hey, I worked out for 6 hours this weekend - I think that's a legitimate excuse! When Jason asked me what I was training before I was thrilled to pull out my favorite response, "Life!"

I managed to take a quick video while we were on the death-trap. I get dizzy just watching it.
