It's been a heck of a year for me. In the last year I've dealt with: my new Hashimotos diagnosis, absent periods for almost a year due to hormonal imbalance, and never-ending dental drama thanks to my traumatic facial injury in high school and chronic teeth grinding.
With all of my various health issues I've always tried to use a holistic or natural approach. I remember when I was just out of high school and I think I was out for a walk one day and the concept of interconnectedness suddenly hit me. Every single thing, person, food, animal, plant on this planet comes from the same basic elements. The food that I eat gives me energy to work, do nice things for others, pick up salems poop and grow physically and emotionally. This is one of the main reasons why I decided to become a vegetarian - I've always felt very strongly that you absorb the energy of what you put in you or what you keep around you (think of the effects that toxic friendships or a welcoming home environment have on you!)
As I've tried to make sense of the various health issues I'm dealing with (and whoever said shit starts to go downhill once you hit 30 was not lying) I've been reminded about how interconnected everything is.
This is just the beginning. I've had so many thoughts racing around in my head these last few days that I had to put them out into the universe to share. I've been doing so much research online into different forms of healing and alternative medicines. Thanks to my hefty root canal bill I'm going to try to eliminate all unnecessary spending for a few weeks so I headed to the library after work to stock up on a few books that look promising:
I'm excited to share more about what I learn with you all.
Have you ever tried a type of alternative medicine?
