For those of you who know me at all I'm about to make two statements that should come as absolutely no surprise: 1. The only time I'm not wearing workout clothes is when I'm teaching (and even then the thought has crossed my mind.)
2. I am meticulous with my monthly spending and pride myself on finding high quality, yet affordable, items.
Take, for example, the top you see in my weekly 'workout summary' posts. I maybe paid $20 for it, wear it at least once a week, and it's still in as good a shape now as when I purchased it a year ago. However, it can be challenging finding truly high quality workout wear that matches my teacher salary.
Enter: The Active line by Old Navy! I cannot believe I haven't tried their Active line before. People kept telling me to check it out, particularly since I'm vertically challenged and I heard their pants actually fit pint-sized people. I received a $50 gift card to try the line out this week and I was absolutely floored at their selection and the amazing quality of all the items I tried on.
I ended up getting a compression jacket, long sleeve running top and desperately needed sports bra (all for $50!) If you check out the links be sure to take a look at the amazing reviews all the items have received.
You can also see me wearing the jacket and get a peek of me showing off the matching sports bra in my Polar Review Video Here!
I ran in the jacket on Tuesday and it's the first time I've worn something with thumb holes. It was so nice to be able to keep my hands warm without wearing gloves since I have to take them off every time I wan to check my distance on RunKeeper! Also, don't you just think those thumb holes make you look fancy? The jacket is made up of moisture-wicking material that I noticed made me significantly less sweaty after the 4 miles were up. It also just fits like a glove - the lines of the design are flawless and I seriously feel like a pimp wearing it around (and you know I'm that person wearing workout clothes everywhere in public.)
I even managed to do some kitty bicep curls while wearing it!
I'll be showing off the other top I got next week when I share a new workout video with you all. In the meantime I'd suggest getting to Old Navy asap or checking them out online as the Active line is on sale up to 40% off until January 16th!
