Handcrafted Valentines

I'm a total sucker for romance and handmade items. Naturally, I wanted to combine the two to celebrate this year's Valentines Day and when I put the call out for Valentines a few weeks ago I had almost 40 responses! Jan2

I had some supplies left over from my etsy days so I made a few different types of Valentines. The guys got candy rip hearts with mustache tattoo cards:

Here is the tutorial (with printable pdf) for the hearts.

The ladies received one of the following:

A banner card with teal glitter embroidery floss and either pink buttons or heart pins. Everyone received these classic pet Valentine's (also with tattoos!)

The back of all the envelopes were stamped with this incredible custom stamp from this etsy Shop. Laura did such an amazing job working with me to get the design I wanted. I love how retro personalized mailing stamps are - such a sweet gift idea for new homeowner or newlyweds!

I had a few small bottles to make up 'love potions' with. Here are the ingredients I selected:

- Rose Quartz: for love and healing emotional wounds

- Lapis Lazuli: a gem that brings total awareness (so you don't get blind-sided by love!)

- Rose Hips: traditionally strung and worn as love attracting beads

- Lavender: helps draw love to you

- Hibiscus petals: an aphrodisiac IMG_6007

Finally, a few of these secret messages went out (inspired by the message-in-a-bottle craft here.)

IMG_6001I had a few people offer to send me a Valentine as well and I will share all that I received soon. Let's just say this is the most loved I've ever felt while being single on Valentines Day. You guys rock. Definitely helped me stop feeling like this lady is going to be me in 60 years.
