Friday afternoon I received the BEST PACKAGE EVER from Rock N Roll Marathon Series! I've been an ambassador with them for about two years now, and love their races. I've done the Nashville full marathon and New Orleans half and look forward to flying back to the lower 48 from Alaska to do #3 next year. Ever since my preterm labor scare at 29 weeks I haven't run more than a mile, once. Even if I wasn't paranoid about pushing it too much I don't think I could run if I wanted to. It just hurts. Everywhere.
Saturday morning I woke up and headed to the gym for a walk. I did 2 miles on the treadmill before meeting Travis down by the pool to lounge around in the water for a bit. I also took this awkward bathroom selfie and prayed that no one would walk in on me. In the 20+ times I've used this restroom I've never seen another person in it so I liked my odds.
That afternoon we headed into town to search for a pair of shoes I could wear with my dress at the military ball this Wednesday. I checked the thrift store on post before going shopping as I was *really* hoping to avoid spending $$ on a pair of shoes I'll wear once and not again until our next ball (who knows when that would be.) They had a few cute pairs there but nothing in my size so we went to Shoe Carnvial and I found a nice silver pair on clearance for $35.
When I got home and tried them on with the dress I pulled a muscle in my chest reaching around to zip up the zipper on the side. Pregnant lady fail.
I didn't wake up again until almost noon (my sleep at night is horrible so I'm taking ridiculously long naps during the day now.) Travis ran some errands and came back with a little surprise for me, the Lego Movie! I've been talking about getting it for a while. My Mom gave me her Disney DVD collection, and Travis and I were talking about what movies we think baby boy would like as he gets older. A few weeks ago we bought Despicable Me and now we have this one in our collection. Of course I've had "Everything is AWESOME!" stuck in my head since watching it!
I have my 34 week appointment this morning and I'm so glad to be seeing my primary OB again. I haven't seen her in about 2 months since I've been rotating through the other docs in her practice just in case one of them end up delivering. I've been having a lot of braxton hicks contractions again, so I may ask her to check and see if I'm dilated at all. I can't believe we will have a baby in the house in a few weeks!
Running moms - did you have to give up running while pregnant? How hard was it to get back into it?
What movies do your kids love?
