I think I mentioned last month that my online income can fluctuate - a lot. This is one of the many reasons I hope to always have an in-person source of income such as teaching. I'm so anal about budgeting and finances that I really can't sleep at night not having any idea how much money I may be making month-to-month. November's income of $810 is just about average for me for the past year, but significantly lower than last months income of $1,838 (but significantly higher than June's income of $25.73!)
- Freelance writing: $340 (check out my post on how to get started freelance writing.)
- Sponsored posts:$300
- Youtube: $134
- Amazon: $36
- Total: $810
I can already tell you December is going to be MUCH better. The ad network I belong to paid us out on December 1st due to the Holidays so my November ad revenue plus some sponsored posts I did with them were paid out yesterday and it was quite nice! My Youtube account is set to deposit whenever my revenue reaches over $100 which is about every 3-4 months.
As you can hopefully tell I did a major site redesign last weekend! I spent about 4 hours (and $100) on Sunday updating everything. There are still a few more things I'd like to add and tweak in the coming weeks. I think it loads much faster now which was important to me. My goal for 2015 is to really amp up the traffic here, secure more long-term freelance writing opportunities in the health/wellness and travel fields, and continue to build up my social media presence. I'm hoping to have my book proposal out by the end of January and I think having a more streamlined website, along with a large readership base and social media following, will help potential agents take me more seriously.
What are your blog monetization goals? Have any questions for me about making money writing/blogging online?
