Yesterday was one of those dreaded off days. You know the one. Where you wake-up already tired, can't muster up the energy to even get dressed to work out and just feel blah.
I'm not sure what brought it on, but I suspect it may have something to do with the fact that I worked out for 3 hours between Monday and Tuesday. I typically workout for 45-60 minutes a day so that was a significant increase in overall time. When my alarm went off yesterday at 5:30 a.m. I immediately knew it wasn't going to be my most energetic of days. I ended up taking a nap before 10 a.m. (and another one at 2 p.m.)
I still managed to get a few hours of work done before lunch. Considering I normally start working on blog stuff at 6 a.m. it's not unheard of for me to work almost a 'full' day by 2 p.m.! Over the past few months I've become much better about listening to what my body needs and I could not stop eating or drinking water yesterday. I definitely ate more than I even do on long-run days but I couldn't care less. I was famished! I drank between 10-12 glasses of water as well.
After lunch I officially called it quits on working (until my night class anyways) and decided to take a few hours to rest, relax and pamper myself. I started off with making some of my favorite tea:
Got a hot bath going with my fresh batch of Aromatherapy Bath Salts:
and used my absolute favorite Giovanni D:tox Mud Mask:
After the soak I had the most incredible nap, came up with a fabulous new healthy dessert (will share tomorrow!) and caught up on some of my favorite comedies. Laughter is truly amazing medicine.
I'm confident I will wake up tomorrow feeling refreshed and ready to rumble. I have so many incredible projects on the horizon I think my subconscious just wanted me to slow down and get ready for what's about to come. After the interest I received on my Happy Project I'll definitely be putting together something over the weekend to share with all of you next week who would like to join me.
What do you do to relax when your having an off day?
