I play mean tricks on my cat

This weekend. I was slightly disappointed in these cookies.

Travis and I had eyeballed them a few times in the store and finally broke down and bought them to bake Saturday night. They were surprisingly mediocre fresh out of the oven. 2014-10-25 17.57.32However they were MUCH better cold the next day! Maybe it had to do with eating it after a 10 mile run? Travis and I set out to do our last long training run for the Pensacola marathon but I knew with my knee acting up last week I likely wouldn't hit our goal of 18 miles. Travis killed the run, but I had to let him go on without me early on and managed to do 10 before hobbling home to ice it and gorge on carbs. I ate a box of cinnamon chex cereal in two days. I love that stuff.

2014-10-26 08.55.56After the run I treated Travis to lunch at one of our favorite spots - Cheeburger Cheeburger. This is the face of a man who is about to eat 1/2 a pound of beef.

2014-10-26 12.14.46Or maybe it was the salted caramel cheesecake shake talking.

So, Salem has a few little ... imperfections (don't we all?!) One of which is this ridiculously long ear hair that drive Travis nuts. He keeps threatening to cut it off but I absolutely love it.

2014-10-26 09.37.39He also has a MODERATE weight problem, regularly has poop on his butt, and is usually missing a bit patch of hair on his mouth. I love his little quirks.

He's also not the brightest cat on the block sometimes. He's a total lover, when he wants to be, but he can kind of be a jerk so I like harassing him.

I also like to yell out 'treat' only to see him get all excited but not get anything. And I like to pretend I'm throwing one of his favorite toys into the other room just to watch him chase after nothing. No wonder he attacks me regularly.

Do you like to harass your pets? How was your weekend?
