Over the last few weeks I've started spending more time on personal and professional development. I'm trying to streamline my blog and online businesses so that I can make more money, and spend less time working. Who doesn't want that? Right now I work about 5-6 hours a day, 6 days a week, while my son is napping or after he is in bed for the night. Ideally, I would decrease the amount of time I spend working down to 3-4 hours a day while simultaneously increasing my profits. I plan to start doing income reports again as I love reading reports from other bloggers and I think it really helps motivate those just starting out. After a quick glance at my spreadsheet it looks like I made about $10k in the first quarter of 2016! I can attribute it to a few things; investing more money back into my business than I ever have before, spending time every day learning something new about blogging or growing an online business, and setting very specific goals for 2016 (and specific plans on how to reach those goals.)
Here are a few of the professional development podcasts, periscopes and blogs that I try to check daily. In general I'm not a fan of multitasking, as it actually decreases productivity in most cases, but I love to listen to podcasts or watch periscopes when I'm on the treadmill, out for a walk, or getting ready in the morning. Even if you can just squeeze in 20 minutes a day it is worth it! Whenever I listen to a great podcast on building your blog I get very motivated to implement the tips in my own business.
HeartSoulHustle Zach (my current favorite on Periscope) interviews fellow entrepreneurs to get their tips on how to hustle online. His podcast is fairly new but he's already interviewed some big names in online marketing like Kimra Luna and Coach Glitter.

EOFire Every day John Lee Dumas interviews other entrepreneurs to see what their biggest failures were, what they've learned along the way, and their tips for success. I like hearing from a diverse group of entrepreneurs as I typically stick to those in the blogging and online marketing industry.
I resisted joining Periscope for so long but now it's my favorite social media. If you are on be sure to follow me @EricaDHouse!
@HeartSoulHustle: Zack is my absolute favorite person on Periscope right now. He scopes 1-3x a day usually and it's always full of amazing content. He talks a lot about how to make money off of Periscope, and general tips for selling digital products and services.
@DanaMalstaff doesn't get on too regularly but when she does she always gives amazing advice related to running a business and balancing that with being a mom.
@CoachGlitter make-up artist to Chalene Johnson and an awesome business coach. She has a huge following and has made a fortune in affiliate sales.
@ChaleneJohnson Perhaps the most followed, and loved, woman on Periscope. Her scopes are always very motivating and I love her personality.
The Nectar Collective One of the best blogs I've read about making money online. Melyssa made just over $50,000 in February so she knows her stuff. I also love that Melyssa usually responds to every comment on her blog.
ProBlogger One of the best known blogs on blogging, this is an amazing resource as it covers nearly every topic relating to blogging and monetization.
