Recommended Vitamins without Busting the Bank at Walgreens

There are two things I pride myself on being; healthy and frugal. Many of my friends and students try to argue with me that they are often incompatible choices, but I love proving them wrong! By doing my food prep on the weekends I can make sure to always have healthy meals on hand, and I end up saving a ton of money. Part of my healthy lifestyle entails taking recommended vitamins and supplements to help me perform and feel my best. As a vegetarian endurance athlete with an autoimmune disorder it's even more important that I 'cover all my bases' nutritionally speaking.

When I signed up to do this post I did some research to make sure Walgreens brand supplements were legit. I read quite a few independent ratings and reviews and they all seemed very positive. The price savings between Walgreens brand and name brand is substantial! Before I went in I signed up for their Balance Rewards program online. Through the program you can earn points on purchases made in store and through tracking how many miles you walk/run! That's so awesome. At 10,000 points you can turn them in for a $10 store credit. I am so doing this #MarathonTrainingFTW

There has been a lot of buzz lately on whether or not multivitamins are beneficial to the average diet. In my experience most people don't eat a balanced diet and could benefit from taking a multi. Even though I eat pretty healthy I still get stuck in 'food ruts' and tend to eat the same foods over and over again. It's for this reason that I like to take a multivitamin.

I also picked up some Iron which I've been taking daily for years and some Vitamin C which I swear will stop a cold dead in it's tracks!

I always love a company who helps to promote health and wellness! Beginning February 1, 2011 through December 31, 2014, 1¢ from the purchase of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness product, up to $3 million annually, will support bringing preventative wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Commitment®.

P.S. For the month of March, #WellAtWalgreens products are buy one get one 50% off!
