My first time doing two posts in one day! I just wanted to update you all on my trip to the dermatologist this morning. Did you know that 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer at some point in their lives? That is frightening! I went and saw Dr. Amy Watson in Pensacola, FL. Her office was huge and so gorgeous!
I went for my first skin cancer screening and was tres nervous given my 10 year track record with tanning. Excuse the bed head in this photo, my appt was at 7:45 a.m.!
Looks like I'm looking good for now - yay! She sent me home with some samples of cetaphil moisturizer with spf since I don't wear sunscreen on a regular basis. I'm always afraid to try out new face products though because I still break out like a 15 year old before homecoming. After the appt I treated myself to a coffee from Panera's. It's the first coffee I've had in months and I was wired after! I always make mine a 50/50 mix of Hazelnut & Light Roast. So delicious!
I feel so relieved now that I've been checked out. Since I don't have Health Insurance it's hard for me to be as proactive as I can about my health but I do everything I can to take care of myself physically and mentally. It's nice to have one less thing to stress about! I'll leave you with this great skin cancer infographic and encourage you all to wear your spf and see a dermatologist if you see anything that concerns you!
Have you had a skin cancer screening done? Do you know of anyone who's had skin cancer?
