It's officially taper time! This week's runs are pretty similar in distance to last week but we are gradually cutting down. Next week we only run 2x during the week. We have 3 rest days and I think I'll end up going for a walk those mornings. I feel schleppy starting off the day with zero activity and this weather is perfect for being outside a bit in the morning before work.
Yesterday's run was pretty brutal. It was ridiculously humid out and 74 degrees at 6 a.m. - it felt like summer! It was also weirdly windy so my running partner and I both had a pretty challenging time getting into the run. I figure all these crappy runs just make me more prepared to face whatever challenges may come up on marathon day!
I received two awesome packages this week! Fiber Love Bar sent me one of each of their flavors to try out. So far I've died over the cinnamon raisin. I love that they are 130-150 calories each, low sugar, and perfect for my late night munchies.
I also received a package from my blog bestie Jen after winning her giveaway last week! They are bars from a PA based company, Grab-A-Nola, and they were freaking delicious. The two main ingredients were oats and peanut butter so there was literally zero probability I'd dislike them.
Someone left a comical comment on my Living in a Studio Apartment youtube video.
I told Salem someone called him fat and he was depressed the rest of the night (doesn't he genuinely look disappointed in himself in this photo?!)
I'd like to politely tell my friends to stop asking me when the marathon is because every time they do I pee my pants just a little bit. It's 9 days away and I'm scared shitless. I plan to do a video soon (I know I've been so bad about doing them!) but my general sentiments toward race day are excitement, anxiety, determination, and a healthy dose of fear. I'm not sure who the original artist of this is, but I cried when I read it, cry when I think about it, and will likely cry 105 more times before the race is over.
What was the last thing you did that totally scared you?
