Weekly Workout Wrap-Up and celebrating S.A.D.

Workout Wrap Up

Feb 15

{Check out my reviews of the DVD's listed above here}

Pretty typical week for me as far as workouts go. I'm planning to sit down Sunday night and draw up a month long training plan. I'm still hoping to get my first half marathon done soon and there is one coming up in April I'd love to be prepared for. I've also been reading through Jillian Michael's Slim for Life (full review next week!) and I'm all inspired to really see how much more I can improve my fitness abilities.

I have been absolutely stuffed with love and sugar this week! I received so many incredible Valentines I can't wait to get photos taken and show off my goodies next week. One particularly delicious gift from Haley (a.k.a. my FitBloggin roomie!) were these ridiculously good peanut butter croutons from Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar in Houston, Tx. Apparently, your supposed to put them on top of yogurt but I ate most of them just like cookies (they are basically flourless salted peanut butter squares of heaven.) I managed to stop inhaling some long enough to put them on my NadaMoo! and oatmeal!

A case of NadaMoo actually arrived for me the same day to try out. It was fate! If you haven't tried NadaMoo before you need to see if it's available anywhere near you and get some immediately. I've almost killed the Maple Pecan already and the Mint isn't going to last much longer either. I'm trying to be nice and save the Vanilla and Coconut for my parents since I asked what flavor's they'd like to try. This stuff is certified organic, fair trade, gluten free, and vegan. It's pretty dang healthy for ice cream at 140 calories a serving! Get some. Now.

I also received a Nature Nate's honey to try. If you've been reading for a while you may remember my honey + cardamom obsession a few months ago. I love topping sweet potatoes and pocorn with it! The flavor of Nature Nates was so rich and complex compared to the store bought brand I usually use (which tastes like just straight sugar.) I'm totally becoming a honey connoisseur.

Nature Nates

I've been totally over-indulging this week and I love it. The indulgence will continue through the weekend and I'm getting back in  beast-mode Monday with the DietBet and Fitness Challenge I'm hosting. I'm so glad I decided to start them on Monday because I'm going out of town this weekend as a gift to myself in celebration of Singles Awareness Day

SADYes, it totally exists. From the Wikipedia:  "Common activities during Singles Awareness Day include, single events, traveling, volunteering, treating oneself to popular activities, gathering of family and friends, and gift giving for oneself."

So, where am I going?Cafe

New Orleans! I haven't been since last summer and, coincidentally  this was the first trip my ex took me on last year as a surprise for Valentines Day.  Oh, the irony! As you can see in the prior trip recaps I did here and here I've already done all the touristy stuff: Cafe du Monde, Lafittes Blacksmith Shop, Carousel Bar, Aquarium, the usual. This time I'm going to  be there visiting a resident so we're going to check out some of the local favorites. I'm beyond excited. While I'm there I'm planning to stop by the Whole Foods since it's the closest one to me (3 hours away!)

Anything in particular I should look for at Whole Foods that you can't get anywhere else?

Any good vegetarian places to eat at in New Orleans?  I've done Green Goddess before (loved it!)

Don't forget to sign up for my DietBet and Fitness Challenge!
