Tuesday: 8 mile walk/hike (I mean, at 8 miles it’s basically turned into a hike)
Wednesday: Tracey Mallet F.I.T.
Thursday: 6 mile run
Friday: Strength + Walk
This week was all about the walks! I wanted to give my foot/knee some relief after Saturday’s long run so I took it easy and just ran once more this week. I ran without any residual pain on Thursday which is the first time that’s happened in weeks. I had some shin splints on and off so I’m taking that as a sign that I need to get my shoes replaced. Looking to branch out from Mizuno for the first time in years so tell me what your favorite brand of shoes are!
I have absolutely fallen in love with walking again. It may take longer, but walking 5 miles burns about as many calories as running 5 miles, and it’s been 10x more enjoyable for me.
I won’t say I’m ‘over’ running, but I’m just not feeling it like I used to be. After my first marathon I was all OMG RUN ALL THE RACES. Then I spent some time frustrated with my pace this year as I haven’t gotten any faster, at all, since I started taking running seriously two years ago. Now, I’m still excited to run the Rock N Roll marathon in New Orleans in January but I’m going into it as just an excuse to have a mini-vacation and have some fun on the course. The weather has just been perfect here for walking (high’s in the 60’s in the afternoon) so I’ve been trying to walk on days I do strength at home in the morning. If I workout at home there’s always the chance I won’t leave the house at all so taking walks in the afternoons helps avoid that.
This week Travis introduced me to this Oreo Brownie Ice Cream dish at Dairy Queen. The brownies in it were a bit stale but I tore up some of the hot fudge and vanilla ice cream. I also tried out this lavender Kombucha that I picked up while at Whole Foods last weekend. I love finding lavender flavored items! I’ve tried lavender ice cream and lavender lemonade before. I usually drink the multi-green Kombucha so this was a nice sweeter change from that.
Mom sent me a tin of her famous peanut butter balls. I love/hate her for it.
We are finally 100% done with Christmas wrapping! I’ve never had this many presents under my tree before! We bought for my family, his family, and each other so there’s probably 20+ gifts under the tree.
This weekend we are planning to go look at Christmas lights, and celebrate Travis’s birthday! He’s requested that we do nothing for his birthday. Like, stay inside all day playing video games, watching movies, and eating junk food. I knew I married him for a reason.
What are your plans this weekend?
How many people do you usually buy for during the Holidays?
