Workout Wrap UpJan 24

No rest day this week! I didn’t mean for that to happen, but both Saturday and Wednesday were very ‘light’ activity days for me. I’m happy to be 100% pain free again so I’ve been upping my miles a little bit. I have the Double Bridge Run next weekend (15k) so I’m  hoping to go out for a 9 miler this weekend and see if I can complete it keeping my goal pace for the race (10 minute miles.) I’m not very confident it will happen, but I’ve got to give it a shot!

Thursday I had an incredible 8 mile run. It was chilly but I needed the extended sunshine and fresh air. 2014-01-23 08.26.46Plus, look at the views I get!2014-01-23 06.46.45-1

I finally gave the one lecture I’ve been dreading since the term started. I’m teaching a Research Design class in the psych department so most of my students are … math averse (to put it mildly.) A big part of the course is learning how to do ANOVA’s by hand (ANOVAs = super long, drawn out statistical analyses.) I spent almost a full day before class trying to find video’s online to make it more accessible to them and was feeling pretty confident before I went in to the classroom. I was also feeling quite hungry, so I swung by Target and grabbed this guy to try out. It was delicious!

2014-01-21 15.11.16Finally, since I over-share my entire life and believe in full disclosure; le bf and I le broke-up this week. We had a long talk one evening and both concluded that we were not getting what we wanted to out of our relationship, and didn’t project it to change in the foreseeable future. The morning after it was decided I woke up and felt free. For so many reasons. So, I’ve got another ‘data point’ to add to the pile (as my Dad likes to refer to them) and my girlfriends and I are already planning ‘breakovers’ (I had no idea that was a thing), weekend getaways, and all the other fantastically chic newly single women do.

One of my favorite smart people, Art Carden, (economics professor at Samford)  linked me to this article he wrote for Forbes detailing how the chances of finding ‘the one’ may be easier than finding aliens. It inspired me to do my own math to see how many dateable guys are left in Pensacola for me.

2014-01-23 17.16.21I was actually shocked there were 18. Well, 17 now!

Ain’t nothin’ gonna break my stride
Nobody’s gonna slow me down
Oh-no, oh-no, I got to keep on moving
Ain’t nothin’ gonna break my stride
I’m running and I won’t touch the ground
Oh-no, I got to keep on movin

– “Break My Stride”

{Yes, I seriously went there}
