How to Make $60k a Year from Blogging

April 18th, 2016 | Posted by Erica House in Blogging

After weeks of many, many late nights I am so excited to share with you all my latest passion project! I designed this eCourse to cover exactly what I did to grow my blog from $0 to $60,000 a year in revenue. 2016 has been incredible for me professionally. After four years of blogging everything finally clicked. I’ve spent more time, and money, on my blog/services in the first 4 months of this year than I have in the last two years combined and it’s paying off – literally.

I’m only half way through the 0-60K course and I’ve already learned so much. I love that each module has an action item, and each action item isn’t something that is unrealistic or unattainable. I’m able to pause the course, and go and do it right then and there. I also love that Erica is so real. There are so mainly people out there claiming to be an expert, and luring in people with false claims and marketing jargon. There’s none of that in this course. It feels like you’re sitting in a coffee shop sitting chatting with a friend giving you advice. I’d highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to take their blog seriously! – Elizabeth

For those of you who don’t know my background I worked for almost 10 years teaching Psychology courses at a University in Florida, which I loved, but had to supplement my income with a desk job which slowly ate away at me. I’d sit at the desk, day in and day out, and dream of walking out and finding a job that gave me fulfillment and flexibility to live the life I wanted to.

When I started my blog four years ago I had no idea it would be the vehicle to the life of my dreams. After a few months of blogging I started to work with brands and get paid for reviewing health and fitness gear. I was in heaven! Soon I was making enough to quit my soul sucking desk job and it was one of the best days of my life.

As a college instructor I love learning, and I love teaching. I’ve spent hundreds of hours over the last four years learning everything I can about making money from blogging. It has paid off as I’m now on track to make $60,000 from my blog this year (and that’s not including the thousands in free products and travel I receive.)

Part of what drives me is helping others achieve their goals. I run online boot camps helping women get into the best shape they’ve ever been and am overjoyed when I get emails from clients telling me their lives are forever changed. Now, my goal is to help as many women as possible figure out how to earn significant income working at home as a blogger. As a new mom and Army wife I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am to have a job that I can work at no matter where the Army moves us.

Erica’s 0 to 60K blogging course has changed the way I look at my blog. She doesn’t hold anything back, and gives you all of the details on how she makes money. Nothing is off limits, and not only does she tell you what she does, she shows you how to do it yourself. The action steps give you clear direction on how to turn your blog into a money maker. There are so many things that I knew I should be doing, but I didn’t know how to do them. Now I have a plan that will make my blog profitable. I’m very happy I took this course, and you will be too. – Emmy

In this course I will cover everything from how to start a blog, to growing your social media channels, starting a mailing list (and getting people to sign up) and how to find sponsored posts. You can see the entire course curriculum on the course page. Be sure to check out the testimonials of a few of the bloggers who’ve already taken the course. It makes my heart so happy to see people so satisfied!

Who is this course for?

Bloggers making less than $500 a month

Bloggers willing to put in at least 10 hours a week on their blog

Bloggers who are motivated to use their blog to make significant income

Who is not right for this course?

Bloggers who don’t want to put in the work and expect their blogs to just magically become popular. Good luck with that!

While I made good money off my blog the last few years my income started to skyrocket this year when I started to invest more money back into my blog. Investing in this course will pay off in so many ways. By investing money into your blog you are telling yourself this is a legitimate business and it’s time to take it seriously. If you implement the tips and tricks I outline in the course than you will start making money off of your blog. Will it be overnight? Probably not (but let me know if that happens!) If you put in the work and stay consistent it will happen. I’m so confident about it there’s a money back guarantee on the course (just read the FAQ at the bottom of the course page!)

The checklists and to-do lists made it easy to stay on track and know exactly what actions I needed to take. I already made a spreadsheet for expenses and payments, printed out an editorial calendar, started improving my social media, and changed the direction of my attention to areas that need it most. I really appreciate how honest and open Erica is about everything. I tried researching ways to grow my blog before, but every article I read I felt like they were still holding something back. The motivation it gave me has brought so much excitement and confidence, I can’t wait to start implementing more changes! – Christina

This week there is a deeply discounted rate for the course as I truly wanted to make it as affordable as possible. Next Monday the course will increase to the full price so if you are at all interested in the course I would sign up this week!

I’m purchasing your course today! Will you have a Facebook group or somewhere where students can ask you/each other specific questions and pick each other’s brains? I am going to turn my WordPress blog on its heel! I am designing a course in Teachable too and have an e-book that’s almost ready to roll. Let’s do this!

I took so much away from the course, including things I had never even thought of before and learned how to approach things I had previously been confused about. I’ve been working hard at implementing the changes I learned and can’t wait to see it all come together. Thank you again for this course, it was exactly what I needed!!

Keep me posted on your success! Definitely keep a monthly spreadsheet showing your social media stats so you can see how many new followers you get every month.

  • I thought I knew enough about monetizing blogs and social media, but this really lit a fire under me. I loved the printables and the to-do lists at the end of each section. I’m recommending to one of my clients that a few people in our social media department take a look at this (I couldn’t stop talking about it in our meeting yesterday, lol). Erica, YOU ROCKED IT!

A few questions if you have time to answer: 1) How long is the eCourse approximately? 2) Is it geared more toward health/fitness blogging? I’m planning to start a travel blog so wondered if it would be applicable. 3) Do you offer WordPress and any “coding” instructions or tips?
    Thank you!

    • Erica House says:

Hey Kristen! The course is entirely self-paced so it depends on how quickly you want to go through it. If you wanted to just read through/watch everything in one sitting it’s probably about 2 hours. If you stopped to actually do everything after every module it would probably take 1-2 weeks. It can absolutely help with travel blogging! The principles are still exactly the same for growing social media, writing great posts, SEO, etc. I don’t talk about WordPress coding at all as I’m not very fluent in that area. The only WordPress info I discuss is how to set one up, and then I offer suggestions for plug-ins to use in certain modules. Hope that helps!
