I out ran a bird + a very important museum exhibit

Friday morning I had one of the ‘best’ runs I’ve had in a while. I was able to run for over 3 miles without stopping and I kept a pace similar to my ‘every day pace’ before the Hanson marathon plan + summer heat totally burned me out. 2014-09-12 06.53.10I probably spent 7 hours Friday afternoon/night playing computer games in a vegetative state on the couch. I’m finding that with teaching 5 classes Monday-Thursday I spend the first day of my 3 day weekends (and I know I am SO lucky to have Fridays off!) zoning out and trying to recharge. Travis came into town late Friday night so we maybe made it about an hour before we both passed out.

Saturday morning we headed out for a 6 mile run. It didn’t go as well as Friday’s. We overslept (actually I just turned the alarm off which never happens) so we got going later and it was hotter than usual. The highlight of the run was me out-running this bird. Joker didn’t stand a chance.
2014-09-13 07.43.01After our run we headed over to the Pensacola Museum of Art to look around for a bit before running errands. My favorite exhibit by far was this collection of bunny sketches! I love whimsical art.
2014-09-13 10.09.26-1After a few pit-stops we made our way to Jason’s Deli for lunch and I was so famished I didn’t take the requisite lunch photo. #BloggerFail. We didn’t do much the rest of the day. I’m SO over the summer weather and it’s just making me blah about doing anything outside. I want to hike, I want to go on walks after dinner again, and I miss reading at the park for hours on end. I tried not to dwell on everything else I’d rather be doing and drowned my sorrows by eating almost an entire box of kraft macaroni and cheese. I don’t think I’ve had it in years and I was just craving childhood comfort food. It hit the spot.
2014-09-13 21.13.24-2Sunday morning (and Saturday actually) we were supposed to run 10 miles. I ended up turning the alarm off again and sleeping in until 7:30. We usually wake up at 5:15 on the weekends to run so 7:30 felt ridiculously late. We ate breakfast, and went straight back to bed and I put on Sabrina. Life was perfect.

Despite the fact that I want to stay in denial that the weekend is almost over I’m trying to get a jump start on the week ahead by doing some blog work & school work now (I’m writing this Sunday!) I still need to food prep something, although I have no idea what I want. I currently have the AC set to just under 70 and a cinnamon pumpkin candle burning and I may watch a Christmas movie tonight. I don’t care if it’s 90 degress outside – at casa Erica it’s officially Fall.
