Speed work is kind of the bane of my existence. There’s no way for me to sugar coat it; I really, really dislike it. I feel like I’m bad at it, and I don’t like to do things I’m bad at. I know that the only way to become a faster runner is to run faster, so I’m making it a point to do at least 1 speed work session a week. If I ever want to hit my goal of sub 2 hour half marathon then this is an essential part of training to reach that.
I decided to start incorporating speed work in regularly around the same time I received these amazing ZQuick shoes from Reebok. The tag line sold me; These shoes make you unnaturally quick. I’ll take that! It definitely helped me stay motivated to tackle those challenging runs when I knew I had these new kicks waiting for me.
I love their commercial. Just watching it makes me want to lace up and sprint out the door.
Features I love:
- Low cut and lightweight
- Inspired by high performance tires
- Medial and lateral underfoot grooves so midsoles can flex/expand more (giving you more ground contact & smoother run)
- Super hot colors
- Price! At $84.98 they are substantially less expensive then most other running shoes I’ve tried.
- Cat approved
Love the design of the soles. I’ve never seen anything like it! It is super light weight but still feels supportive enough for me, and extremely flexible.
