Tea and Crumpets

{Drinking one of my favorite brands of tea, yogi, after a 80 minute Booty Barre workout this morning!}

I actually had no idea what a crumpet was until I looked it up on wikipedia just now.

Doesn’t it just sound so lovely and proper?

Part of my proactive happiness brigade will include drinking calming teas on a regular basis. I say calming because I drink yerba mate and green tea daily but miss unwinding in the evenings with a cup of tea. I’ve tried a ton of tea, literally a ton. Boston tea party quantities.

As for those in the ‘relax’ category these 3 are my absolute favorites:

Lipton Bedtime Story: subtle blend of chamomile and mint. I find a lot of non-tea drinkers like this one since it is so mellow.

Pukka Relax.

Ingredients: Fennel seed (30%), licorice root, chamomile flower (14%), gotu kola leaf, cardamom seed, ginger root, marshmallow root (6%), ashwagandha root.

 Kava Stress Relief.

Ingredients: Yogi’s Kava Stress Relief tea combines this relaxing herb with Cinnamon and Sarsaparilla to add warmth and spice, and Carob Pod for rich flavor.

The Yogi Kava tea is my hands-down favorite. Kava has been used around the world for thousands of years as an analgesic and mild sedative. When I drink it I find that it does numb my mouth a bit and I always have very bizarre sleep. It’s like I’m so restful and relaxed I go into a coma. It’s not bad per say but I’m also waiting for the day I get a little to relaxed and wake up in a giant wet spot.

I went there.

If your ever in the mood to try some new tea and need some recommendations based on your tastes and what you’d like to ‘get’ from it please ask!
